This is so amazing not only because HIWATT's tube sound is so fantastic, warm and massive, but because they are a high-end, custom boutique amp maker embraced by many of the top bands in the world. You can't find them at the local music stores or chains because they are usually custom ordered and not cheap...because they only use the highest quality tubes and components.

Songwriter and recording artist, NIKKI LUNDEN is now the NEW lead singer of The Lora G Band! From here on... we will be know as:"Lora G Band & Nikki Lunden!"
About Nikki: She is an accomplished singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with over 15 years of live stage experience. Nikki recently moved to LA (9-2012) from Iowa where she performed with her original bands: “The Trollies” and “The Nikki Lunden Band.” A recent grad of Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, Nikki is an amazing songwriter and an extremely dedicated singer and musician. Her recently released EP called: “It’s About Time” can be heard on LoraGband.com or NikkiLundenMusic.com ).

Nikki also recently performed with MICKI FREE of Shalamar and opened for DAVID LOWRY & JOHNNY HICKMAN of “Cracker.” If you think she has a slight vocal similarity to SHERYL CROW, it would only make her happy as Sheryl has been her biggest musical influence since the age of 15.
We met Nikki at a TLGB performance at Petie's Club in Reseda earlier this year. There we heard her incredible singing, songs and witnessed her vivacious stage presence! We asked Nikki to be the lead singer of the TLGB earlier this month when Ariel Westberg notified us she's moving on to pursue other projects. We wish her the best and she'll get it because she's a talented singer & songwriter.

28IF is EXTREMELY UPBEAT, WICKED and has some MASSIVE guitar riffs--we cannot wait for you all to hear it. We hope to release it by next week (live performance of it next week at LA PRIDE).
ALSO...for the first time, we are publishing the lyrics (written by Lora G) to 28IF and the details about what it's about, WHY Lora wrote it and WHO influenced her to write it. The details and full lyrics are at the end of this BLOG--Below). We are releasing lyrics AHEAD of the song in HOPES you read them BEFORE you hear it. We think this is a novel way of releasing a song where the message is so important.

A HUGE thanks to Luis for his awesome producing and guitar contributions. Also to mix engineer Geoff Pearlman for helping us take "28IF" to another dimension.
Also a huge debt of gratitude to the incomparable cellist ANA LENCHANTIN (Train, Queens of the Stone Age, Into the Presence) who performs cello throughout the song, she is just an amazing musician and human being. A BIG thanks to HECTOR MALDONADO (bassist for Train) for the wonderful bass work and to MORGAN YOUNG (Into The Presence) for his incredible drumming. Our next release after "28IF" will be a song Lora wrote called: “I WONDER.” This is a sort of "haunting, mystical song with a really bright and upbeat chorus" --think: “Evanescence,” (if you want a style to compare it to). NIKKI LUNDEN will again be the lead vocalist, PRESCOTT NILES from “The Knack” and "Missing Persons" will be on bass, KIMBERLEY SMITH and SAWAMI (Sammi) SHINOHARA on vocal harmonies.

I started writing 28IF after thinking about a conversation I had with singer, GRACE SLICK (Jefferson Airplane). Grace and I were friends in the early 90's and I happened to ask her Grace to explain the lyrics to her song: "LATHER" on Airplane's legendary "CROWN of CREATION" album (Lather is a song I really love).
"Lather was thirty years old today. They took away all of his toys."
Grace said she wrote it around the time she lost her close friends, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrision (all died at age 27). She had feared Airplane's drummer and once her BF--Spencer Dryden-- would suffer the same fate due to over indulgence and the fear of turning 30.
I had also lost some friends for similar reasons, so I decided to write a song with a message that explained the 27 phenomenon. I wanted to let young people know that there are reasons beyond their control about this period of their lives and that it's normal to have a fear of "growing old" at an early age. I wanted to let young people know to just hang in there, that there IS a rainbow on the other side of 30 and that they will be loved and supported as much and even more than they are when they're young. I also wanted to let them know that by harming themselves, it harms everyone they love and who loves them--just as much--if not more.
28IF has some obvious, but also some ambiguous lyrics. The title comes from the back of the VW license plate on THE BEATLES "Abbey Road" album cover (there's dispute over the "I" being a capital I or the number 1 so I left it the same ambiguous way (however in the song, it is sung as the letter I as it is used to infer "This or that person would be 28 if they had not died or disappeared at the age of 27)."
BEATLE HOAX Put Paul in The 27 Club
Many don't realize The Beatles hoax (about Paul being dead) included him in the infamous 27 Club (it includes: Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones and many more). It also includes RICHIE EDWARDS (Manic Street Preachers), who disappeared at 27 and later proclaimed dead. Richie is one of my favorite lyricist. Almost a whole verse is dedicated to Richie. I sometimes think there's a small possibility that Richie may have just decided to "disappear" because so many of his songs are about his sexual and gender ambiguity. Richie often quoted famed 19th Century poet, Authur RImbaud (as do I) who semi-disappeared at the age of 20... partially because he was gay and feared persecution and intolerance in his native country of France. As someone who understands this first hand (I am transexual) I think there's a possibility Richie may have had gender identity issues. His disappearance (or suicide) might have been his way of not facing or coming forth with this and other personal issues. 1995 (the year Richie disappeared was a very harsh time and intolerant time for those in the LGBT community (especially the transgender community) to reveal their true sexually.
Richie was a member of the famed and fantastic British Punk Rock band "Manic Street Preachers" (check out their recent album "For Real" it is awesome (the lyrics are all by Richie Edwards and it's a dedication to him. http://www.manicstreetpreachers.com
I hope during my time in the UK and Europe this August and September I get a chance to hear The Manics and maybe even get a chance to meet the members: NIKKI WIRE, SEAN MOORE and JAMES DEAN BRADFIELD. FYI, from what I've read, they still put away 1/4 of their earnings in a reserve bank account just in case Richie is still alive and comes back to the band and his family.
